Wiyarut Wheeler
Accounting Manager
Wiyarut “Rut” Wheeler joined UF/IFAS Facilities Planning and Operations (FPO) in 2021 and currently serves as the Accounting Manager. In this role, she leads efforts in budget analysis, financial reporting, procurement, compliance, and fiscal policy. Her work ensures sound financial stewardship in support of UF/IFAS’s research, teaching, and extension missions. With a strong background in financial administration and process improvement, Rut plays a key role in optimizing operations and aligning resources with departmental priorities.
She brings extensive experience from her 14-year career with the U.S. Department of Defense – U.S. Air Force (2008–2022), where she specialized in budget policy, data analysis, and financial oversight. Rut is a Department of Defense Financial Management Certified Professional and a graduate of the LEAD IFAS program (December 2025). She is also actively pursuing supervisor certification to further strengthen her leadership skills.
In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Rut was honored with the 2025 UF Superior Accomplishment Award - a testament to her excellence in financial management and commitment to service. She has also received multiple Financial Contribution Awards and Customer Service & Performance Awards throughout her career.
